Day 2 - Saturday, October 14

Guaje Ridge - 10 am

Meet at Sullivan Field at 9:30 or Camp May at 10

Guaje Ridge is the best ride in Los Alamos. Following the Cerro Grande Fire, the trail was lost until late in the summer of 2005.Descending from 9200 feet to 7600 feetin 5 miles, the Guaje Ridge trail offers a little of everything; off-camber singletrack through a thick forest (above the burn), loose, rocky, steep descents, fast swoopy trails through waist-high golden grasses.

We will take Canada Bonita, from Camp May, to Pipeline to the Guaje Ridge trailhead. After ridge, we will descend down the Cabra trail to rendija canyon, descend Rendija Canyon to the xxxxx trail. After 2 brief (but steep) climbs, we'll descend through Shoeshine and work or way back into town via Walnut Rim Canyon and Bridges. Most will shuttle from Sullivan Field back to Camp May, a few may push their legs by climbing the Nail Trail to Camp May Road.
