Another weekend starting with skate skiing at the Whistler Olympic Park under blue skies, learning that Beryl likes to eat snow after she’s released from her Chariot. There was also more sliding down snow banks. Her giggles were so loud they attracted the attention of a nearby classic ski class, she was enough of a distraction that the instructor moved the groups ~ 100 m away.
Afterwards, on our way out, we stooped to explore a new area for overnight potential in our new (to us) toy, a FWC Fleet in the bed of the sportsBAT
Then we drove down to Porteau Cove Provincial Park for our first overnighter. Found a choice spot
and in just a few minutes, the top was popped and the furnace was running
Beryl approved of the new playspace. That full-body north face fleece was in mint condition, and very white, when we bought it second-hand, now it is very well-used and no longer white. Now that it actually fits her, we’ve already bought the next one (and it isn’t white)
After exploring the camper interior, Beryl decided it was time to go to the beach
to watch the setting sun reflect from the peaks of the Tantalus range
and get mommy to carry me down to the water’s edge
don’t forget airtime from daddy
and then, she had to squash her face against the screen door
Ravioli, jar red sauce, and IPA for dinner; brownie and Barley Wine for dessert
View from outside in the cold
View from the warmth of the dining room (and kitchen, and bedroom)
cozier
ready for lights out, with her Pattagucci down suit converted into a Pattagucci down sleeping bag
rolling at first light to get Em home in time for a group roadie ride

Looking good Scott, motor next
Excellent write-up Scott! Nice to see you guys getting out and making the most of the weather up that way. Beryl is hilarious!
Norm… Thanks, and I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about
Andrew.. Thanks again, we’re getting our money’s worth for skiing, but it has come at the expense of riding for me; my only rides so far this year have been commutes. We are fortunate with Beryl, she has a great disposition and seems to have fun with all of our adventures. I’m sure she’ll enjoy cross season a bit more next year when we’re heckling from the warm, dry camper
