With one exception, SFAIR, all of my skiing at Cypress has been at night, under the lights.
I was doubly rewarded yesterday with a late afternoon session. I was able to get up to the upper, non-lit trails, and the shifting, late afternoon light was entrancing

oh yeah, the skiing. It was cold
~-5; but my trusty, well-used Gecko Gear toque, commuting cycling tights, wool socks, and a few layers of wool Icebreaker shirts allowed me to sweat from the effort and not become chilled while descending. in total 12km of trails, and 1,100 m of vertical gained. A good hour of effort. Cycling still hurts less…

mc, I was fortunate. the snow was good. there were a lot of people down low, but the upper trails were nice (and I was able to watch better skiers and try to mimic their technique and turnover until they became too small in the distance. and the weather….
