The flowers in the Bako foothills are already pushing through, and with the onset of a new round of rainstorms, Saturday was the day to hit the trails…
(the crackberry focus is not what I wanted….)
A bittersweet moment, as my Walt was still set up for Emily, notice the short seat height…
It was an overcast day (hinting at the storms to come, which thus far have not really developed), but it was warm and the winds were calm. A nice day for riding in the Bako Badlands.
I wanted this shot, but it was very difficult setting the timer and then getting my bike up and over this.
After a little solo riding, I joined nine other riders from the SSFTA for a jaunt around the Eastern Bakersfield, snapping a few shots of Steve on his Redline SS railing through Mr. Toads
Suffering back to the top to enjoy the twisting descent of Refrigerator (so named for the abandoned GE)
As the ride came to an end, I stopped for a shot that was on the camera that I dropped a few months ago…
and one more self-timed shot, just for you darling. Memories of Bako
pffffffffffftttttttt

The California “Green Season” around Bako makes your trail fotos look like they were taken in the High Country in Colorado.
P.S. Dig that jersey too.
Who’s the guy with the beard?
if it keeps raining, the green is coming..
to then be replaced with the brown and treeless..
the jersey’s okay, I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the high cut shorts….
H – If you see him, tell him that I WANT MY BIKE BACK!!!!!!
Whats that squishy thingamabob on the front end?
Those flowers are beautiful. Doesn’t look like Bako to me!
