Sorry Brendan, no cameras at the show (and I was too dull to think of carrying my cell phone camera), but what a show. Les Claypool never disappoints, and I learned a new term..polyrhythmic, which describes his music. More completely, apparently, his songs are filled with complex polyrhythems on a 7/8 or 9/16 count. All that I really know is that I liked it before I knew what it was called
Random thoughts from the concert..damn, dancing might be more tiring than cycling..It’s a good thing that I don’t have to worry about whether contact highs will affect the results of random drug test..CA is a peculiar state, many people (most people) here are getting high, but on three different occasions during the night, people went to light a tobacco cigarette but decided to go outside to smoke..mary jane inside, tobacco outside..gin and tonics are really good..dancing is really tiring…my ankle hurts…gin and tonics are really good..I don’t feel my ankle..gin and tonics are really good..Les forgot a verse in the song..that guy’s joint is as big as my wrist..I must stay out of the God spot ..
Looking for grub at sunset.

Wow, you got some nice views. Last time I was in SF, I couldn’t see far in any direction because of the “marine layer.”
What’s the god spot? or is it God spot?
The rest of the evening sounds like a New Year’s well spent.
when you comin’ down this way?
The God Spot was an area immediately behind us where people were standing absolutely still, completely slack-jawed, staring in an unseeing manner towards the stage.. They must’ve been looking at God..
I had a good time in SF. Quick trip.
I’m looking to head your way next weekend (I wish that I could roll that way this weekend, I wish I could get out there Saturday just to twist your arm and drag you out for a birthday pizza and a beer or three), that’s the OC rides, maybe get in a ride on Saturday if you’re not up for OC on Sunday. I think that Temecula is the following weekend
Funny, I saw a “Les Is More” sticker on a car yesterday morning at work.
Happy New Year, yo!
Ed
Last two concerts that we went to in SF at the Paolo – no drinking within the venue…..no smoking cigarettes in the stands…..but for some reason they didn’t care one bit about the mini ganja fests going on in the seating sections. I think the security guards must have been the suppliers or something. Besides Bill Walton, it might be safe to say that we were the only other ones in the audience who didn’t blaze up. Go figure….
