A last minute decision had me flying back to Los Alamos on Saturday…
Judging by Ariana’s hair, it must’ve been very humid that day..

Sunday was a wonderful day spent with just Air and I… She’s going to be playing basketball this winter (too bad “Air” has already been copyrighted, or I’d have to go Pat Riley and run to the lawyers now), and the season starts soon, so we searched all over Santa Fe (pretty hard to find women’s basketball shoes around here), before she found a pair of Jordans that she liked. After a few hours of homework, by each of us, she was ready to break them in..
She already has the Jordanesque tongue waggling down pat..

It didn’t take her long to wear me out (cut me some slack, I have flatlander lungs these days), so I sat back and watched her take it to the hole, and rain down jumpers..Those guys in the background were sitting next to the court, heckling me relentlessly as she took me to school..

Look at that form…

When I was just too tired to even watch any more, we stopped by Joe and Donna’s new casa, which is next to the hoop, and oohed and aahed over their new house and ongoing addition. No pix, but he is building the bike wrench’s wet dream..
Ariana finally started unwinding over dinner, at the Hill Diner with their newly formatted menu. Air was wracked trying to choose between the burger and the buffalo burger..

The day was completed by decorating the house, watching the Rockies be swept, and a evening of board games. She crushed me at Simpson’s Sorry, but I held my own in Battleship

All too soon, the weekend was over..
This was my good-bye trip to Los Alamos, just as the weekend had to end, so has the relationship between Carrie and myself. There were some issues that we were unable to work through, which my prolonged absence exposed and exacerbated. Carrie, I wish you all the best, I’ll always be here for you.
Air is quite the athelete. Good for her fro trying B-ball….of the team sports that’s a darn good one to play. I miss the afternoon b-ball games we used to have in college.
Tough luck of late, Scott. Really sorry to hear the news, but I wish the both of you the best.
