A few weeks ago (so, I’m a little behind), during a visit back to Los Alamos, Ariana and I went to Pajarito mountain for her first day of boarding! and what a day it was. She was a natural, after a few runs she could maintain a heel edge and a toe edge, so she was able to work on linking them together in the turns. By the end of the day (we only had a half-day because I had to drive back to Denver afterwards, 8 hours of driving in the snow, including another white-out across La Veta pass), she was having some success making turns. None of that ride-the-heel-edge-only, turning-via-fakies garbage for this girl…
Here she is riding her heel edge, on her new (to her) snowboard, and her new pink jacket (one more pink addition to the wardrobe of this pedal princess and some dope boots. I think that they are Lamars, and I don’t have a picture, but they sure are sweet..

Showing perfect form and a big smile…

She did get tired, and afterwards admitted that her backside felt like a big bruise…

In all, it was great day! We’re going to hit Keystone over President’s day, so she’ll have a few more days to get the feel of the board…
